All returning TASIS grade 10 students must complete the Course Selection Form, have it signed by their current teachers and then meet with College Counseling to discuss their course choices.
GPA Requirement:
The full IB diploma and individual DP Courses are open to highly-motivated students in good academic standing and with good time management and study skills. Applicants must show a good previous academic performance (minimum US GPA of 2.5 or equivalent) and an above average effort record (minimum effort average of 3.5 on the TASIS scale of 1-5 or equivalent). They must also meet an appropriate math standard for the chosen IB math course. The minimum math requirement for each IB mathematics level is the completion of the precursor TASIS math course or non-TASIS equivalent. Applicants must meet an appropriate English standard for the chosen IB English course. The minimum English requirement for entry to the IB program is the satisfactory completion of the TASIS English Grammar, Composition & Literature 1 course (previously called EAL 4) or a CEFR B2 standard on a recognized English test such as the CEPT (68+), TOEFL (79+), or iELTS (5.5+). For new students, the final choice of IB Diploma subjects will be determined after testing on arrival at TASIS.
Course Availability
Unfortunately, not all course combinations may be possible due scheduling constraints and sufficient enrollment is required for a course to be offered.
A languages: The offering of taught A literature courses can change in response to demand, e.g. German and Spanish. Please contact the IB Coordinator for details.
