Basketball - Boys (V)
vs. International School of Milan (ISM)
|Date:||January 30, 2018|
It was revenge time for our boys, who lost a 41-40 heartbreaker at ISM approximately a week earlier amid controversy surrounding questionable scorekeeping, timekeeping, and officiating! Although this game was relatively close for much of the first half, with the lead changing hands many times and both teams doing a bit of trash-talking as each play developed, our boys just sensed that the game was not going to slip away from them this time around. With the TASIS squad down 24-20 at the midway point, it was time for the team's big boys to strut their stuff in the second half, and they didn't disappoint! With our team's level of confidence, conviction, and motivation at its best, ISM was badly outplayed and outscored 31–16 in the second half. With this impressive second-half output, along with some very good team defense, our boys never gave the opponents a chance to close the gap and get back in the game.
It was an impressive display of good team basketball by the TASIS men at both ends of the court. The offense was led byCan Basaran '18 with 16 second-half points to finish with a team-high 20. Other major contributors to the scoring were Cem Koprulu '19 with 9 points and Nick Barbieri '18 with 8. Pablo Rivero '21 had a strong game with his impressive ball-handling and playmaking skills. Overall, it was a well-deserved victory by our "V" boys!
