I am just a child who has never grown up. I still keep asking these 'how' and 'why' questions. Occasionally, I find an answer.

ES Events on Campus Tomorrow
The ES Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Hadsall tomorrow from 10:30–12:00. All ES students (including those at Focolare) are welcome to enjoy this fun annual event.
A Family Easter Lunch will follow the Easter Egg Hunt in De Nobili from 12:00–13:30. Parents are asked to bring some desserts to the lunch.
There will also be a Used Uniform Sale in Hadsall during the Easter Egg Hunt, and the Usborne Book Fair will be in the Hadsall Dining Room from 9:30–15:30.
ES School Uniforms
As winter finally draws to a close, children no longer need to wear winter boots. We will resume wearing comfortable and safe shoes. I am sure we will still have some rainy days ahead, so please have your child wear a waterproof coat with a hood and/or bring a small umbrella on those days.
As a reminder, children are to wear TASIS uniform clothing and appropriate shoes. To review our uniform policy, please refer to the ES Handbook.
We look forward to this weekend’s activities and hope the weather cooperates. If it is raining tomorrow, we will move the Easter Egg Hunt inside.
Thank you for sharing your children with us,
Theresa Cullen Hill
Head of Elementary
All-ES Morning Assembly on April 9
The next All-ES Morning Assembly will be held on Monday, April 9, in the Palmer Center on the main TASIS campus. The assembly begins at 8:15. This month’s theme will be Celebrating Reading since Book Week begins that Monday.
There will be no drop-off at Focolare on that day. Focolare students should instead be driven to the main campus, and parents need to expose the orange sheet on their windshield. Teachers will meet students on the grassy area. At the end of the assembly, students will return to Focolare by bus.
Open House at Focolare on April 13
We will host an Open House at Al Focolare on Friday, April 13, from 9:00 to 11:00. All are welcome to come and learn more about the TASIS Early Childhood Program, which beginning in the fall of 2018 will include an expanded Pre-Kindergarten program for students as young as age three.
The Open House program will begin promptly at 9:00 AM and will include the following elements:
- Welcome from Christopher Nikoloff, TASIS Headmaster
- Description of the Pre-Kindergarten 3-year-old and 4-year-old programs from Carol Hinchliff, Early Childhood Coordinator
- Highlights of the TASIS Elementary School program from Theresa Cullen Hill, Head of Elementary School
- Highlights of the Italian Section from Guia Berera, Elementary School Assistant Head and Italian Section Coordinator
- Tour of Al Focolare facilities
- Tour of main TASIS campus
Questions about the Open House or general inquiries about TASIS may be directed to the Admissions Office at firstname.lastname@example.org or +41 91 960 51 51.
Upcoming ES Parent Coffees: Understanding Our New 2018–2019 Schedule
- April 18 for students entering grades 2–5 • 8:30, Casa Fleming
- May 16 for students entering grade 1 • 8:30, Focolare
Parents, please save the dates to meet with ES Head Theresa Cullen Hill and ES Assistant Head and Italian Section Coordinator Guia Berera to learn about next year’s combined homerooms (and other changes to the academic program). These coffees will help to answer any questions and allow us to review next year’s schedule together.
Spring Gala: Choose Your Table
You will have an opportunity to select your table for the Gala on April 16–19 from 8:00–8:30 or 14:30–15:30 at Giardinetto, which is in Hadsall. Selection will be based on availability, and the final table layout will be decided by the TPA. (Please note that the dates were incorrectly listed as March 16–19 when this bulletin was first sent out.)
Spring Gala: Request for Auction Items
As part of the program for the upcoming TASIS Spring Gala on April 21, there will be a silent and live auction throughout the evening. At the moment, we find ourselves a little short on a few items and would like to turn to the parent community for help! Do you or anyone you know have any fashion or art-related items that you would like to donate to the Gala auction? Proceeds from all auction purchases will go toward the campaign for a new classroom building for the Elementary School, scheduled to be opened in 2020. The deadline for donations is April 9.
To learn more about how you can help, please email email@example.com. We thank you for your support!
Don’t Forget to Reserve Your Seats for the HS Spring Musical!
This year’s High School Spring Musical, Annie Get Your Gun, will premiere in the Palmer Center on Friday, April 13, at 19:30. Shows will also be performed on Saturday, April 14, at 19:30 and on Sunday, April 15, at 14:30.
To reserve seats or learn more about the show, visit tasis.ch/anniegetyourgun.
Next Weekly Bulletin will be on April 13
Please note that with the Spring Holiday beginning at the close of the school day next Friday, we will not be sending another Weekly Bulletin until Friday, April 13. If any new announcements need to be made before then, they will be sent via email.
