La Scala Dance Troupe to Perform at TASIS Monday Night

On the evening of Monday, January 15, TASIS will host a return visit of six dancers from the Dance Troupe of Milan's La Scala Opera House. This troupe has visited TASIS numerous times, and its performances have always been very well-received by students and faculty members.

This year's performance will begin in the Palestra at 19:00 and will feature both modern and classical dance pieces, including Venice Carnival with music by Cesare Pugni; a "pas de deux" from Romeo and Juliet by Prokofiev; a piece from Il Corsaro with music by Adolphe Adam; "Memories of a Romance" by Bach; and a finishing dance with an homage to Gershwin.

This cultural event is required for all boarding students (who must be in dress code), and parents are also welcome to attend.

Spring Musicals Announced

High School Theater Director Valerie Carlson has announced that this year's High School Spring Musical will be Annie Get Your Gun, the classic American musical based on the life and legend of Wild West sharpshooter Annie Oakley and featuring songs by the incomparable Irving Berlin.

Annie Get Your Gun will be performed the weekend of March 16–18, with a special matinee geared towards families. More details will follow.

Elementary and Middle School Theater Director Matthew Frazier-Smith has announced that this year's Middle School Spring Musical will be Disney's Beauty and the Beast JR., which is based on the Academy Award-winning motion picture and the original Broadway production that ran for more than 13 years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards.

Beauty and the Beast JR. will be performed the weekend of May 18–20, with a special matinee performance included. More details will be shared later.

Mr. Frazier-Smith also announced that the Elementary School Spring Musical will be Cry Wolf, an original production written by Stephanie Figer, TJ Liquori, and Mikey Rosenbaum, three veteran members of the TASIS Summer Programs' Dedicated Performing Arts Team (DPAT).

Cry Wolf will be performed on Thursday, May 31, and on Friday, June 1. Details to follow.

Collecting Clothing Left Around Campus

In an effort to keep our campus cleaner, the Laundry Services team will be collecting random items of clothing that are left on the various racks around campus (such as the one just outside De Nobili) on the first Tuesday of every month. These items will be laundered and returned to Lost and Found, which is in the High School Dean's Office in De Nobili.
