International Week Just 10 Days Away!
International Week, a treasured annual TASIS tradition, will open on Monday, February 11, and conclude on Friday, February 15. The week will include special events in all three divisions, including the all-school Parade of Flags, the Elementary School's International Showcase, the MS/HS World Cup Tournaments, and the High School International Food Fair.
The week will kick off with the Parade of Flags Assembly on Monday morning. This raucous event will be filmed and posted on the TASIS YouTube channel later that day. Due to very limited space in the Palestra, parents are kindly asked not to attend.
International Showcase Registration Deadline on Tuesday
This year’s ES International Showcase will be on Friday, February 15, from 8:30–9:45 in the Palmer Center. Students who wish to participate may perform a song, instrumental solo, dance, poem, or short skit that represents their country. They may perform on their own or with friends, but we ask that if the students are from different countries, they find a way to connect the two countries in some creative way.
If you have not already done so, please help your child submit this Google Form by Tuesday, February 5, if he or she would like to perform this year. (Reminder: If multiple students plan to perform together, please submit only one form per performance and list all names and countries involved.) Any links, mp3s, and videos that will be used in the performance must be included in this Google Form submission.
The maximum performance time is two minutes. Traditional costumes from the country of origin are encouraged for performers but not required. Performers should come to school that day in their performance costume and bring their TASIS uniforms to change into. Please note that TASIS is not able to cover the cost for any instructors required for rehearsal or performance, and no live accompaniment will be provided.
Please contact Mr. Frazier-Smith with any questions.
A note about parent attendance: Please note that while parents of performers are welcome to attend the International Showcase, we cannot guarantee everyone a seat due to limited space in the Palmer Center. The event will be filmed and shared with all ES families within a day or so.
