Halloween Parade and Treats Next Friday!

The TPA and TASIS have worked together to create a fun-filled Halloween afternoon for our students on Friday, October 26. All ES students will be served a delicious home-made Halloween treat, wear costumes and walk in the Halloween Parade, and receive a bag of Trick-or-Treat candy to take home.

Focolare students should bring their costumes to school that day and will be able to change into them at 14:30. Their Halloween Parade will begin at 14:30 and will be followed by hot cocoa and treats.

Hadsall and Aurora students can wear their costumes to school and will participate in a Halloween Sing-Along in the Palmer Center at 14:00. They will march in the Halloween Parade at 14:35 and have their treats afterward.

The TPA is still looking for a few more volunteers for this event. They invite parents to bake a Halloween-themed treat, serve the baked treats during lunch, decorate the lunchrooms, or pass out candy. For volunteer details and to sign up, please click on the button below. (Some spots may already be filled by the time you submit the form, so the TPA will write to let you know if your help is needed.)

A Note About Fall Festival
Please note that after detailed discussions with the TPA, the Administration made the difficult decision to not host the Fall Festival on the TASIS campus this year. A big reason for doing so was to reduce the burden placed on the TASIS personale, who have been tasked with an incredible amount of behind-the-scenes work for more and more major events on campus in recent years. The Administration remains very excited about and supportive of the various ES Halloween events planned for next week and the MS/HS Halloween Brunch this Sunday.

A Message from the Library: Usborne Book Fair Returns Next Week!

Dear Parents,

In three weeks, the ES Library will host our annual Fall Usborne Book Fair. I would like to extend a warm welcome to all parents who would like to attend the fair. Please see the dates and times below:

Thursday, November 8, in the Hadsall Library (11:15–17:00)

Friday, November 9, in the Hadsall Library (8:00–17:00)

Parents are welcome to come any time during opening hours. Homeroom teachers will bring their classes to the fair for a 30-minute block. While there, students will be able to purchase books directly or order them for later delivery. Here is how it works:

Children who bring money to school
They may select their books and make a direct payment. Some books may not be available upon purchase. These will be pre-paid and ordered. They will be delivered to the school library within 2–3 weeks.

Children who do not bring money to school
They may create a wish list (on a blue sheet of paper received at the fair) that will be sent home the same day. If parents approve of the book choices, students are asked to bring the correct amount of money (in Swiss Francs) the following day to give to their teachers, who will then pass it on to me. The books will be ordered and delivered to the ES Library within 2–3 weeks.

The week before the fair, I will send flyers home with all children. These flyers list some of the new Usborne titles. All book prices are listed in British Pounds, but payment at the fair should be made in Swiss Francs. I will also send a conversion chart so that you will know how much the books cost in Swiss Francs.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at Many thanks for your support, and I look forward to seeing you in November.

Elementary Librarian

Order your school portraits online

You may now order prints of the portraits that were taken earlier this month. These photos are used for the Yearbook and for Veracross, but you may also order printed copies of your child's portrait directly from Rotary Portraits.

All students who were photographed on one of the portrait days should have received a portrait proof from their advisor. With this portrait proof, please visit and enter the unique access code to place an order. If you have misplaced your ordering information, please contact Rotary directly at

antigone/CAESAR Opens in Four Weeks

This is a reminder that this year’s High School Fall Play, antigone/Caesar, will premiere in the Palmer Center at 19:30 on the evening of Friday, November 16, and will also be performed at 19:30 on Saturday, November 17, and at 14:30 on Sunday, November 18.

Please visit to reserve your free seats and learn more about the show.

Scuola Corale Cathedral Recruiting New Members

The prestigious Scuola Corale Cathedral (SCC) is proud to announce a new collaboration with TASIS that will offer students (ages 9 and above) and faculty members the opportunity to sing with the SCC. Inductions will be made through a brief interview and a short test, so as to assess ability levels and teaching requirements at each individual’s level. Rehearsals will be held twice a week, and previous experience is not obligatory.

For more information, consult this brochure or contact Robert Michaels, Master of the Choristers, at or +41 79 219 14 10.

No ES Weekly Bulletin the Next Two Weeks

Please note that the next ES Weekly Bulletin will be sent on Friday, November 9, as we typically do not send bulletins on the Friday preceding a week in which classes are not in session (or during the week in which classes are not in session). If any school-related information needs to be communicated in the meantime, it will be emailed directly.
